Thank you everyone for your kind attention. This was my first major fiction writing exercise and I am thrilled at how wonderfully successful it was!
At approximately 55 000 words, it didn't quite make it to the novel length but let's face it - this is only one character's story, one character's arc, and as such, it is not finished. Perhaps I stopped short of the third act so I can expand on these writings later and surprise even you who read it up to this point, who knows? :))
Be as it may, it was an invaluable learning curve and you, the readers, with your expectations, questions and reactions helped enormously to guide me through the plotting of something a lot longer than just a short story.
For this I thank you.
Now I feel ready to tackle a serious writing project, but I will forever be in your debt.
